OUR STORY

In October of 2017 my husband Ted and I, along with our two daughters Lily and Fiona left our hometown of Healdsburg, California to move overseas. After spending 3 years living in the Fiji Islands, we witnessed firsthand the devastating effects of single-use plastics on our environment; plastic toothbrushes, razors, grocery bags and water bottles littering the pristine white beaches and turquoise blue water. I dreamt of opening a shop upon our return that focused on unpackaged, sustainable products. While I don't begin to call myself an expert in plastic free and sustainable living, I do strive to use less and re-use more in my daily life, any little bit to help reduce my carbon footprint. I believe that even small changes can lead to big rewards, hence Sonoma County Trading Company was born. I hope that we can inspire others to join the movement to reduce, and re-use so together we can make an impact to help make our world a healthier one for generations to come.
At Sonoma County Trading Company, we carry all natural household soaps, self-care products, home goods, accessories, up-cycled clothing, and more. Our goal is to carry products that are eco-friendly, zero-waste, sustainable, recycled or up-cycled. Over 90% of our vendors are women-owned, small businesses; most are based in the US, some locally. Thank you for visiting our website. We hope to see you in our Windsor, CA shop or in our Cloverdale shop. Both shops feature a refillery of all natural, organic sulfate free soaps, lotions and cleaning products. We appreciate your support. -Kim
